D117 Free Streaming Services   Did you know that for the past 3 years District 117 has provided live streaming access, free of charge, to our community members and their friends and family around the world? Many programs and their supporters have enjoyed the opportunity to watch and engage with competitions and performances from off-site locations. We often receive compliments on the high quality of the productions, thanks to the hard work of our technology staff and event producers. Safety and Security Reminder   The safety and security of our students and staff will always be our first priority. Our District takes all situations very seriously, and does not tolerate joking about school safety.   Research shows that the surest way to create safe and successful school communities is to build meaningful relationships with students and staff. D117 staff members strive every day to accomplish this goal. It is always important to remember that we all play a role in our collective safety.   Please remain vigilant and communicate with staff immediately if you are aware of potential threats to individuals, groups, or the school at large. The golden rule will always be "If you see something, say something."   Below, please find resources for our students and community members to report potential threats to our safety and security, anonymously:

Recognizing Student-Led Philanthropy We are proud of  the generous philanthropic efforts that have been organized and led by our student activities groups and athletics teams. Already this year, our student organized events have included collecting canned goods for donations to local food banks, making blankets for families, collecting new and used clothing for local shelters during sporting events, and donating time at not-for-profit organizations like the Open Arms Mission. During the winter months, D117 programs are collecting Toys for Tots in both buildings, supporting local families through giving tree programs, collecting canned goods for food shelters, and combining efforts to raise money and awareness for cancer research during the ACHS vs. LCHS boys' basketball games. All of these efforts are driven by our students from ACHS and LCHS. These students are a great example of supporting the communities that make their education and positive experiences in D117 possible! _________________________________________________________________________________________________
