D117 Presents Collegepalooza: Thursday, March 21, 6:30 PM, Antioch Community High School

District 117 is hosting its 2nd Annual Collegepalooza, post-high school planning program, Thursday, March 21st at Antioch Community High School. Collegepalooza will kick-off at 6:30 pm in the ACHS Auditorium.  

The Collegepalooza program will include seven informational sessions over three 35-minute time slots beginning at 6:45 pm.  Informational sessions include:  

  • College of Lake County 

  • Financial Aid/ISAC

  • College Admission Testing

  • Liberal Arts Education:  How to make private schools work for you.  

  • Opportunities in the Trades

  • Out-of-State Public Universities

  • State of the State 

  • Paying for College through the Military

Opening Session, 6:30pm - Auditorium

Post-secondary counselors, Nate Bargar (LCHS) and Kelly McCracken (ACHS) will

start the evening with a welcome and an overview of the event.

Our D117 CLC Navigator will be discussing the programs offered at CLC including

academic pathways, trades programs, guaranteed transfer, career certificates,

apprenticeship opportunities, and more. Learn about the variety of resources for

D117 students that College of Lake County provides.

Financial Aid/ISAC - Room 107

Planning and paying for college: The Illinois Student Assistance Commission

shares an in-depth perspective into the process of applying for financial aid.

Discover what state and federal aid opportunities might look like based on the

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

College Admission Testing - Room 108

Hear from the experts at Compass Education Group as they lead a pragmatic

Administrators from the Office of Admissions at Illinois State University and

University of Illinois- Urbana/Champaign will discuss the state of admissions and

enrollment at each of their institutions. They will also provide some updates about

the public higher education in the state as a whole.
