Blues in The Schools is back starting February 7 and better than ever!
Mr. Untch and Mr. Riggs will host three days of authentic instruction with Award winning international blues artist John Primer, Steve Bell, and the dynamic Demetria Taylor and on the 4th day there will be a celebration, a real Wang Dang Doodle, in the auditorium.
March being Women's History month...
Tuesday's theme will be “Ladies Sing the Blues”
Presented by Demetria Taylor (for you blues enthusiasts, yes she is from the infamous Taylor family).
Honoring (February) Black History month...
Wednesday's theme “From the Country to the City”
Presented by John Primer (can you say Muddy Waters?)
Thursday's theme “Wang Dang Doodle”
BOTH artists will return and present on the history and meaning of this blues classic; they will guide the kids to interject their own personal lyrics into this song
Friday's theme “Laissez les bon temps rouler!” (Let the good times roll)
All of our music students will have an in-house field trip 8th period. John Primer will bring his full band and perform with Steve Bell and Co-headliner Demetria Taylor...it will be a real Wang Dang Doodle!
But wait, there's more! There will be an encore concert for YOU from 3:30 to 4:14 featuring John Primer, Steve Bell, Demetria Taylor and a few surprises.
