Headshot of Colin Fisher, ACHS Student of the Month for April 2026

Antioch Community High School

Sit down with senior Nellie Hill and April's student of the month, junior Colin Fisher. After the video, take a look at what some of Colin's teachers had to say about him.

“Colin Fisher is a super cool human being! He is an active member of the National English Honor Society, and he's always offering suggestions for activities our group can do to support our student body's love of reading. Colin is also a really good student. I've got him in AP Lang. and Comp., and one of my first interactions with him was earlier in the year when he asked me to be in the dunk tank at the opening week event at the football field. Being in a dunk tank is something I would NEVER volunteer for, but after I didn't reply to Colin's email asking me to be in the tank, he came up to me after class, and he used my own teachings against me, using well-chosen rhetorical devices and techniques that we'd just discussed to get me to say yes. He's a human being who gets along with everyone, student and staff alike, and he commits himself wholeheartedly to those things he believes in, which is inspirational. Colin is the epitome of what we want in our Sequoits, and he makes our school and our community better simply by being in it.” -Jamie D’Andrea

“Colin is a very genuine person and I really appreciate his desire to give back and be active in so many ways. He does so much around this school and the community. I have enjoyed working with him this year during student council as well.” -Allison Herman

“One time, Colin hid in my office and shot me with a confetti cannon. He was stealthy and I almost had a heart attack! Therefore, clearly he is a superstar and deserves all the accolades. Moreover, he is a stellar student and person! His presence in the building elevates ACHS every day. He is the poster child for the D117 Portrait of a Graduate!” -Kelly Taylor

"Colin has been a mover and a shaker since he showed up at ACHS the first day of his freshman year.  While he has done many things to make ACHS better, the one thing that truly makes him stand out is all that he did to make the Middle School Leadership Conference possible.  He convinced people that it was a great idea and it has been something that we have done for the past two years.  He worked hard to make it happen.  Colin understands the importance of being a leader in our community." -Dr. Michael Berrie

“Colin is a great student and an excellent person! He selflessly devotes a lot of his time to service, such as volunteer-coaching young volleyball players at AUGS and creating a leadership group for middle schoolers. He's involved in everything! He also is super polite and always says hello in the hallway when I see him. Overall, he's the best!” -Audrey Nagel-Schoonmaker

“Colin Fisher is truly an exceptional human whose leadership in Student Council and Sequoit Sidekicks has left a lasting mark on our school. As a driving force behind the Middle School Leadership Conference, his vision and planning have successfully brought this event to life for two years running. Whether he’s coaching basketball for our Sequoit Sidekicks or supporting our special athletes, Colin is the person we can always count on to show up and lead with heart. In just over two years, he has already made an incredible impact, and I can't wait to see what he achieves during his senior year!” -Teri Klobnak

“Colin is, without a doubt, one of the most passionate and thoughtful people I have met. From the moment I met him, I could tell that Colin was kind, curious, and will be a lifelong learner. We are so lucky to have Colin at ACHS, and I genuinely cannot wait to see all of the wonderful things he is going to accomplish!” -Lindsay Edwardson

“From the moment Colin walked through our doors, he has carried himself with a kind of drive and ambition that is simply impossible to miss. What is especially impressive is that the energy he started with has not faded at all. If anything, he’s somehow found ways to push himself further as time goes on.

He puts real thought and care into what he does while always seeming to keep his eyes on something bigger than just himself. There is genuine goodness and kindness in how he shows up, and it's clear he wants to make this world a better place, especially in a time when we need that most. At the same time, Colin brings such a goofy, ridiculous, lighthearted energy to the people around him, making him not only admirable but also just a really wonderful human to know and work alongside.

He is truly an all-star in every sense. I cannot wait to see what comes next for him because this is only the beginning. Congratulations, kiddo!”-Madelynn Soberano

“Colin is redefining the standard for student leadership. He has been the catalyst for change within our Student Council, spearheading the launch of our Middle School Conference and consistently elevating our meetings with his innovative thinking. He is more than just a high-achiever; he is a role model who inspires everyone around him to reach higher. Colin doesn’t just hold a leadership title—he personifies the very definition of a leader.” -Emily Parris

“Colin Fisher has been a gem of a human since the start of freshman year.  It's been awesome watching him take on leadership roles.  It's clear his peers, especially those in ACT prep class, look up to him.  To return my favorite compliment from Colin, he's the world's okayest student.” -Helene Schulze
