Jacob Slabosz

The ACHS World Language Department is excited to announce that Jacob Slabosz has been awarded an all-expense-paid three-week study trip award to Germany this summer! He was chosen as a national winner after scoring in the 92nd percentile on the Level 2 2019 National German Exam. Once Jacob got his score for the exam and saw that he was eligible for the award he then had to go through a lengthy application process, followed by a rigorous interview with a panel of high school teachers and college professors of German. He found out a few weeks ago that he received the award! Susanne Rinner, Associate Professor of German at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and AATG President said, “The outstanding performance of these German students in our national competition brings honor to their school, their district, and their German program. The AATG salutes their tremendous accomplishment and the great work their teachers do.” Jacob is one of a handful of students selected from hundreds of applicants around the country for this esteemed award. The study trip includes round‐trip air transportation, a two-week school and homestay program, and excursions to places of cultural and historical significance. The trip is made possible through a grant from the Federal Republic of Germany. Gratuliere, Jacob, on this exceptional honor!
