Summer Freshman Academy
Antioch Community High School
We are very excited to begin our SFA program! This will be a summer of opportunity for academic growth, as well as a stepping stone to a great transition to high school. Here are a few reminders that will help your student be prepared for a successful start on his/her first day:
SFA Dates: June 5 – June 26 Time: 8:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.
Students will be given a pen, pencil, folder, and spiral notebook on the first day. Please be sure students bring all of those items with them each day.
Students are encouraged to bring a nutritious snack and a clear water bottle each day.
SFA students can earn a ½ credit toward graduation if they meet the attendance requirements. To be eligible for this credit, students may only miss two days of the program.
If you drive your child to school, please drop them off in front of the main entrance near the flag poles.
If you need to reach out to the school to report absences or you need to speak with an SFA coordinator please call 847 395 1421 ext 0.
Bus route information can be found on the website under Parents/Other Resources and Links or Students/General Info.
When looking at the routes, if you do not see a bus stop within ½ mile of your home, contact Durham School Services directly to be added to the route. Please note that after one week, if your child is not getting on the bus, the bus may be re-routed. At that time, if your student needs transportation, please call Durham School Services at 847-838-5198. If you call in the evening, please leave a message. If you call in the morning, please call before 5:15 A.M. Please understand that the bus routes may run behind schedule on the first few days.
Field Trip Info:
The Summer Freshman Academy will be taking a field trip to the District 117 ropes course on Thursday 6/07/2019. There they will learn team-building as well as problem solving skills. The buses have been instructed to drop the students off at Peacock Camp located at: 38707 Deep Lake Road, Lake Villa, Illinois. The students will be there for the entirety of classes that day. If you are driving your child to school, please drop them off and pick them up at Peacock Camp. Permission slips will be handed out on the first day of class.
We look forward to serving your students,
