National Honor Society

Membership in the National Honor Society (NHS) is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a student. It brings to the attention of parents, teachers, peers, and the community the accomplishments of students who possess outstanding scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Membership is an honor conveyed upon students; it is not a right earned. To be eligible for membership in this group, a student must be a sophomore or junior who has been in attendance at Lakes Community High School the equivalent of at least one semester. Qualified students receive a letter of invitation based on their cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. Interested students must then submit the required forms and essay for review prior to the deadline. In preparation of receiving a letter of invitation to the National Honor Society, candidates are encouraged to put forth every effort in the classroom, co-curricular activities, and the community.
