  • What ‘Ignite passion and discovery in every student’ Means to Me

Every student should find something they are passionate about and pursue it. If they discover a passion for math, that's great! If they discover they don't have a passion for math that's okay too, as long as they find something!

  • A Teachable Moment

I had a professor in college who wrote rather ambiguous tests. I went in one day to question how something was graded because I truly didn't understand why it was marked down. He said, "Face it, Kelly, you're just a B student in History." I couldn't believe my ears and left his office determined to prove him wrong. I ended up with a B for the semester. To this day I don't know if that's the grade I earned or not. I do know that the only thing I remember about this man and his course was the way he made me feel when I tried to question him. I am always mindful of the fact that teaching is more than just delivering content.
