  • What ‘Ignite passion and discovery in every student’ Means to Me

As you go through life, you will be bombarded with an endless amount of information from all different sources, including your teachers. Your job is to sort through that information to not only make sense of it, but to find something that excites you; the reason why you get out of bed every day. While you may not be excited about the same things as your teachers, you can channel their passion and enthusiasm into your own domain. Your teachers' job is to help you discover what that passion may be. Never stop learning!

  • A Teachable Moment

In 11th grade, we had a project in Civics & Government where we had to choose an issue affecting our city, research statistics, actively collect data, survey people, and write a plan for addressing this issue. I chose to research whether a new elementary school should be built in our city and the effects it would have. I poured my heart and soul in the project because I was passionate about it, and it turned out so well that one of the city counselors wanted to use my project for City Hall meetings. I thank my teacher, Mr. LaChapelle, for his zealous attitude, instilling a sense of confidence in us, and showing us the practicality of everything he taught.
