Posted: March, 15, 2017 - 9:20am National math test results Four math students earned recognition for their high performances on the American Mathematics Competitions’ national math exams. These were administered in February. Seth Thomason earned the highest score out of 50 Lakes students who took the AMC 12 exam. He also received a Certificate of Achievement for scoring in the 90th percentile. Aaron Brask earned the second highest score. The AMC 12 exam is designed for juniors and seniors, but younger students with advanced math skills are invited to take the exam, too. Thomason, for instance, is a sophomore. Anna Gundlach earned the highest score out of 50 Lakes students who took the AMC 10 exam, and Adam Hartzer earned the second highest score. The AMC 10 is designed for freshman and sophomore students. Students who are enrolled in honors level math courses and/or math courses above their grade level were invited to take the exams.
