This included communication protocol and District 117’s use of the system NaviGate Respond in the case of an emergency to record student attendance using a device such as an iPad, said Kurt Sooley, dean of students. Additional meetings with the group are schedule for June 12 and 20 to prepare more specifically for a July 20 evacuation drill at Lakes, in which each of the agencies plays a role. Upon successful completion of the two pre-drill meetings and the simulated emergency situation, Lakes’ plan will become FEMA-certified, Sooley said. Antioch Community High School also will become certified in the near future.
