Students enrolled in District 117’s Transition Program occasionally participate in field trips designed to offer them real-world experiences. In early April, transition specialist Michelle Bank arranged for the group to learn about the PACE bus, and the students spent the day experiencing what it’s like to be a public transit user. Some of their family members joined them, too. Other staff members who assisted with the field trip included Andrew Seketa, district transition program instructor, and Peg Larson, program social worker.
