Our Strategic Plan is divided into six domains where we want to maintain excellence or see growth. We track our progress with data that relates our goals through Greatness Indicators. As an added layer of progress reporting, we track our plan’s health globally as well as within each of the six plan domains. Look for our Plan Health Indicator within each domain.

Melissa Karnstedt

Science, Teacher

Principal Eric Hamilton writes that, "Ms. Melissa Karnstedt is a continuous learner who embodies the district's mission statement of igniting passion and discovery. Daily, you will find Ms. Karnstedt's students actively engaged as scientists and 'learning through doing.' Furthermore, Ms. Karnstedt has created a classroom environment in which students are encouraged to ask questions, generate new hypotheses, and find solutions and answers. This desire to learn and grow not only applies to her teaching, but to her own professional development. This past fall, Ms. Karnstedt was selected to attend the Research Teachers Conference in Washington, D.C. The lessons she learned at the conference were immediately applied to her classroom for the benefit of her students. Ms. Karnstedt's approach to teaching and learning provides all of her students with the opportunity to ignite passion and discovery.
