  • What ‘Ignite passion and discovery in every student’ Means to Me

I believe each and every student has a purpose or desire to find something they love within education. Every student is not the same and it is our job as educators to help guide each student to discover this purpose so they may succeed. As educators we must continually make an effort to help each student find their passion in education and move on with that passion so they may grow towards their future goals.

  • A Teachable Moment

I became the teacher that I am today because of my head football coach and physical education teacher. One key trait that he taught me was perseverance. There were multiple times where I wanted to quit various things during high school like football or the process of losing weight after the season because they were too difficult. Each time I came close to giving up my coach reminded me of why I was doing things like football or losing weight to be healthy. The moments where he taught me to look to the future and see the possible outcomes of my goals caused me to continually persevere through tough times. For example, things like college or the tough process of finding a job. I still contact him today to receive advice.
