Natalie Hill Posted: April, 5, 2017 - 2:45pm Bound for Germany Antioch Community High School The ACHS World Language Department is excited to announce that Natalie Hill has been selected as the recipient of an all-expense-paid three-week study trip award to Germany this summer! She was chosen as a national winner after scoring in the 96th percentile on the Level 2 2017 National German Exam. After qualifying with this high score, Natalie then began the rigorous application process for the award. This required written responses to several short essay questions in German and English, including a letter in German to her prospective host family, as well as an interview with a panel of high school teachers and college professors of German. “This year’s prize winners are some of the finest students in the US,” said Keith Cothrun, Executive Director of the AATG. “The prize is a great reward for excellence in learning German - and the best way to better get to know a fascinating language and culture through firsthand experiences living with a German family and attending school.” Natalie is one of forty-four students selected from across the nation to receive this award, which is made possible through a grant from the Federal Republic of Germany. The study trip includes round-trip airfare, a homestay in a host family, and excursions to places of cultural and historical significance. Congratulations, Natalie, on this amazing accomplishment!
