Chamber Orchestra

Busy month for Chamber Orchestra

The Chamber Orchestra made its debut at the NIU String Orchestra Festival on February 13. This is a well-known festival throughout the state of Illinois that only allows six orchestras to participate each year. We were very fortunate to be selected for the festival this year.

Students performed in an incredible performance hall, were cliniced by two world-class music educators and performers, learned from watching students perform in a “masterclass” setting, watched other high-caliber orchestras perform, and also experienced some parts of the NIU campus.

Many of the orchestra students also performed for the Antioch Women’s Club on February 14, which was very well received, especially when we brought over roses and Valentines cards for members of the club. This was a great way to showcase our orchestra program in the community.
