A Teachable Moment

I moved up into this area in the early 2000's with my wife and began substitute teaching in the Zion/Beach Park area. Early in the fall of 2002, I was substituting in a classroom that was in need of a teacher and someone to help these kids. After a week or so, I built a strong bond with some of the students, who were not always interested in school, but were willing to give me effort. As our bonds grew in the classroom, I realized, this is the profession for me and thus I returned to school to complete my education degree and I have enjoyed this profession ever since.
